flagstaff publishing was formed in 1990, involving a loose partnership of three people - Everett Jay Hilty, (an honored life-time member of AGEHR and professor emeritus of organ and handbells at University of Colorado), Gerry Luethi ( a University of Colorado graduate in music who mentored with Everett Hilty in handbell techniques and directing), and Bud Luethi (music engraver and bell ringer).

Our first publications were wonderfully inventive pieces for handbells composed by Hilty, many becoming ‘out of print’. Flagstaff obtained the copyrights and re-engraved these fine works, and added pieces from several other local composers.

Today Flagstaff has a catalog of over 350 compositions by composers from around the world. We concentrate our efforts on quality music for handbells and handchimes, with special focus given to music for schools and community choirs as evidenced by our large selection of secular titles. Sacred pieces are
also represented in a broad range of style and difficulty level.

The partners of Flagstaff remain committed to offering opportunities to new composers and publishing music that is uncluttered, easy to read and dedicated to furthering the art of ringing.
